Shannon Ferguson - Owner / Trainer

Shannon has 20+ years of experience in the horse industry and prides herself on creating sound, fit, happy horses and educated riders.  She provides top-level instruction to students on the local and national level of show hunters and equitation. Shannon rides all horses regularly to ensure that training, soundness and fitness are on track with goals and expectations. 

She trains young horses and all levels of riders for the hunter and equitation rings. Since 2000, she has worked for and had the opportunity to ride with numerous well-known horse professionals, including Oliver Brown, Meg Graham, Glenn Moody, Chris Wynne, Zach Parks, Jason Berry, Anne Kursinski, George Morris, and Harry de Leyer. 

Shannon has trained and ridden an International Hunter Futurity Champion, a VHSA 3-year-old Champion, USEF Zone 3 Reserve Champion, HITS Circuit Hunter and Equitation Champions, qualifiers for Ariat Medal finals, VHSA Equitation on the Flat winners, and many other horses and riders.

In addition to her riding and training experience, she has served as a show secretary for many local and rated shows, managed the Morven Park Equestrian Center, planned events for The Great Meadow Foundation and the Carolina Cup Racing Association, and currently serves as the Co-Chair of the Silent Auction Committee for the Virginia Horse Shows Association.
